Appearing for the first time at the Singapore Airshow 2020 (11-14 February),  is the Hunter Armoured Fighting Vehicle (AFV), which ST Engineering describes as one of the most advanced fully digitalised fighting platforms designed to meet the operational requirements for the future battlefield.

The Hunter is the first vehicle for the next-generation Singapore Army. The AFV features an integrated combat cockpit and external 360-degree surveillance cameras, which allows soldiers to operate fully close-hatched. Gaming-like multi-function displays enable soldiers to interact with command and control and weapon system information  more easily, whilst reducing the cognitive load. 

The vehicle was jointly developed by ST Engineering, the Defence Science and Technology Agency and the Singapore Army.

ST Engineering is able to harness latest technologies like data analytics, AI, robotics and cybersecurity to help warfighters gain an advantage and ensure a higher probability of mission success.

Also on demonstration at the Singapore Air Show will be next-generation Defence Platform electronics from ST Engineering, featuring advanced technology which equips friendly manoeuvre forces with a “see-through” vision system for 360-degree enhanced situational awareness, and new equipment like the Less-than-Lethal UAV, a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) system designed to fly up to 15 knots, covering an operating range of up to 500 m and operating height of 100m.

The UAV is armed with a camera and a launcher with three CS Smoke Grenades. The operator receives real-time video transmission and is able to launch smoke grenades via the control panel. The UAV can be recalled once the grenades are expended and quickly reloaded upon returning to base.

ST Engineering will also display weapon systems such as the 120 mm Precision Mortar System, 120 mm Super Rapid Advanced Mortar Systems (SRAMS MkII), which is able to deploy and recover a variety of unmanned systems, and the Micro ADDER Remote Weapon Station.

Maritime security solutions such as the Vanguard 130 Multi-Role Combatant, which is designed to launch and recover a range of unmanned systems, and defence training solutions such the MAK ONE - Synthetic Training Environment (STE) will also be on display.
